ControlLogix in TDL Projects

ControlLogix is Rockwell Automation's controller family for large, complex automation systems that require high availability, advanced process control and extensive I/O. It appears in 30 TDL projects from 2012 to 2026: 14 in oil and gas (offshore platforms, a gas processing plant, gas distribution stations, an LNG export terminal), 6 at Phu My Fertilizer Plant, 5 in FMCG and food plants, 4 in manufacturing and 1 at a thermal power plant. Twelve of these projects use redundant ControlLogix and six use ControlLogix 5580 controllers; three have 1715 redundant I/O (2020, 2023, 2025).

Most of the work is migration: TDL moved seven PLC-5 systems (2014–2025) and five SLC 500 systems (2016–2023) to ControlLogix, along with Siemens S5 (2018), GE Fanuc (2023), ControlLogix 5555 (2015) and DeviceNet I/O and drives (2026); in 2023–2024 it replaced ControlNet with EtherNet/IP on an offshore ControlLogix system. New builds include an aquafeed factory on PlantPAx (2022) and a 2-lane servo capper for a machine builder (2025), and in 2025 TDL commissioned a redundant ControlLogix boiler control system at an LNG terminal in Texas. The list also covers ICSS material supply (2019), offshore ICSS maintenance (2019), program and SCADA changes on running systems (2017, 2020, 2021, 2026) and maintenance contracts at P&G Dong An (since 2012) and Samsung SEHC (since 2025).
