Facility Monitoring (FMCS) and Building Automation for Factories
TDL builds and maintains facility monitoring and control systems (FMCS) and power monitoring systems (PMS) for large factories: HVAC units, compressed air, water and power brought into one SCADA with history, alarms and reports, and kept running under yearly maintenance. In factory and office buildings on the site, the same system does the building automation (BMS) work: HVAC units are controlled on PLCs, not only monitored.
What TDL does
HVAC
Air handling units, outdoor air units and exhaust fans monitored and controlled from the central control room.
Utilities
Air compressors and other utility equipment brought into the SCADA over Modbus, with field signals wired to the PLC.
Project references
Third-party protocols
BACnet/IP and Modbus devices connected through gateways and KEPServerEX.
Controls retrofit
Failed or obsolete PLCs and HMIs in facility panels replaced with CompactLogix and ControlLogix.
Project references
SCADA, history and reports
AVEVA System Platform graphics, historian and automated reports for facility and power data.
Project references
Yearly maintenance
Scheduled preventive maintenance of servers, workstations and PLC stations, backups and on-call support.

Frequently Asked Questions
Can existing BACnet or Modbus equipment be connected?
Yes. BACnet/IP and Modbus devices are brought in through gateways and KEPServerEX, as for the AHU, OAC and air compressor integration at SEHC.
Which SCADA platform is used?
The SEHC FMCS and PMS run on AVEVA System Platform. TDL can also build facility monitoring on FactoryTalk, Ignition or N3uron where that fits the plant's standards.
Can the system be covered by maintenance?
Yes. Facility systems can be covered by a yearly maintenance contract with scheduled preventive maintenance of servers, workstations and PLCs, backups and on-call support.
Does TDL do building automation (BMS) for factory buildings?
Yes. In production and office buildings on industrial sites, AHUs, OACs and exhaust fans are controlled on CompactLogix or ControlLogix and supervised from the FMCS SCADA, with packaged equipment connected over BACnet/IP or Modbus, as at SEHC.
