PanelView HMI Migration to PanelView Plus 7
Many machines and process units still run on PanelView Plus 6, PanelView Plus 1000/1250 or older PanelView terminals that are no longer sold or hard to repair. TDL replaces them with PanelView Plus 7, converts the application and keeps the existing panel and controller program wherever possible.
What TDL does
Application conversion
Existing HMI applications converted to PanelView Plus 7 and checked screen by screen: graphics, alarms, recipes, security and tag links.
Same panel cut-out
Adapter kits fit the new terminal into the old cut-out, so consoles and panel doors are not cut again.
Communication
Older DH+, DH-485 or ControlNet links to the HMI moved to EtherNet/IP during the upgrade.
HMI with a controller upgrade
New PanelView Plus 7 terminals delivered together with PLC-5 or SLC 500 migrations to ControlLogix and CompactLogix.
Testing and start-up
Testing against the running controller before the stop, then installation and start-up within a short shutdown.
Backups
Old and new HMI applications archived for the plant, with the runtime files and project sources.

Frequently Asked Questions
Can PanelView Plus 7 fit the old panel cut-out?
For many older PanelView Plus terminals, adapter kits let the PanelView Plus 7 fit the existing cut-out, as on the VinWonders roller coaster console. TDL checks the model and cut-out during the survey.
Is the HMI application rebuilt from scratch?
No. Existing applications are converted and then checked screen by screen; only screens or objects that do not convert are redrawn.
Does the PLC program change?
Usually not. The new terminal reads the same controller tags; only the communication path changes when an old DH+, DH-485 or ControlNet link is replaced with EtherNet/IP.
