Phu My Fertilizer Plant – Natural Gas Compressor Control System Migration 2023
Working for the EPC contractor, TDL migrated the GE Fanuc control system of a natural gas compressor at Phu My Fertilizer Plant to redundant ControlLogix 5580 with 1715 redundant I/O, keeping the machinery protection and anti-surge controllers integrated.

Scope of Supply
- Controllers: Redundant ControlLogix 5580 controllers (1756-L81E) with 1756-RM2 redundancy modules and EtherNet/IP communication.
- I/O: 1715 redundant I/O with analog and digital modules for the compressor, lube oil and valve signals; intrinsically safe barriers for field devices.
- Integration: Bently Nevada 3500 rack, anti-surge and performance controllers, and Modbus links to the plant DCS.
- Software: Migration of the GE Fanuc program and the SCADA application to ControlLogix redundancy and a new operator HMI.
- Testing & commissioning: Internal testing, FAT, site installation and commissioning.
