GE Fanuc, Siemens and Older ControlLogix Migration
Not every legacy system is a PLC-5 or SLC 500. TDL also migrates GE Fanuc, Siemens S5 and HIMA systems to ControlLogix and CompactLogix, and brings older ControlLogix systems up to current hardware, networks and HMI, with the integration to the plant DCS, protection systems and SCADA kept in place.
What TDL does
GE Fanuc to ControlLogix
GE Fanuc PLC and GE SCADA replaced with redundant ControlLogix 5580 and 1715 redundant I/O; Bently Nevada 3500, anti-surge controllers and Modbus links to the plant DCS kept integrated.
Siemens to ControlLogix and CompactLogix
Siemens S5 replaced with ControlLogix and PanelView on an offshore compressor; failed Siemens PLCs and HMIs in facility panels replaced with CompactLogix 5370.
HIMA to an ICSS
PLC-5 and HIMA systems replaced with an ICSS on redundant ControlLogix and AADvance.

Older ControlLogix generations
ControlLogix 5555 upgraded to ControlLogix 5570 with RSView32 moved to FactoryTalk View; a redundant ControlLogix program migrated to the latest version on new hardware.
Obsolete modules and networks
Discontinued modules replaced while modules in active lifecycle are kept; ControlNet moved to EtherNet/IP on running ControlLogix systems.

Frequently Asked Questions
Can a GE Fanuc system be migrated to ControlLogix?
Yes. At Phu My Fertilizer Plant the GE Fanuc control system of a natural gas compressor was migrated to redundant ControlLogix 5580 with 1715 redundant I/O, for the EPC contractor.
Does an older ControlLogix system have to be replaced completely?
Not always. On PVEP's DMDP-A platform, discontinued modules were replaced and modules still in active lifecycle were kept, to keep the shutdown short.
Are the links to the DCS and protection systems kept?
Yes. On the Phu My natural gas compressor, the Bently Nevada 3500 rack, the anti-surge controllers and the Modbus links to the plant DCS stayed integrated with the new ControlLogix system.
Running GE Fanuc, Siemens or an older ControlLogix system?
Speak directly with our engineers. Your RFQ, scope of work or drawings are answered by the engineers who program and commission the systems, from the first review of the existing system to the proposed solution.
