Crown Dong Nai – Can Line 3 and Can Line 4 Front End Swap 2026

In 2026 Crown's Dong Nai plant swapped the front ends of Can Line 3 and Can Line 4. TDL moved the motor power and sensor wiring between the two line control systems, extended the Can Line 4 panel, added drives and network links for the body makers, and changed and tested the PLC programs of both lines.

Scope of Supply

• Method statement: Work method for each step of the swap, prepared and reviewed with the plant before work started, with the plant's contractor safety documents.
• Motors: Power cables of the cup conveyor, wet conveyor and oil mist motors moved from one line panel to the other, with an intermediate junction box where existing cables were reused.
• Sensors: Sensors and isolator auxiliary contacts re-wired to the remote I/O panels of the receiving line.
• Drives and panel: PowerFlex 525 drives for the cup conveyor motors and an extension module on the Can Line 4 panel.
• Network: Ethernet links from six body makers to the network panel through a Stratix 2000 switch, and a DH+ link between the two line control systems.
• PLC programming and testing: Program changes on both line control systems for the new motor and sensor assignments, then testing of both lines.
