The Rockwell Product Lifecycle Status tool (read 05/11/2026, description "Ultra 5000 Servo Drive") shows Discontinued 01/04/2013 with replacement category "No planned RA replacement" and no replacement catalog number (N/A). No Rockwell migration guide for Ultra5000 was found; 2198-RM003B covers Ultra3000 drives only. See the TDL proposal below. TDL proposal (not a Rockwell statement): migrate to Kinetix 5100, the family Rockwell recommends for Ultra3000 and Kinetix 3. The Ultra5000 current ratings for this size are in Appendix A of 2098-IN001E, which could not be read; the manual gives 7.5 kW (2098-IN001E p. 2-10). Starting candidate 2198-E2055-ERS (41.3 (58.40) / 91.4 (129.24) A rms (0-pk) continuous/peak, 2198-RM003B Table 8, p. 15), the drive Table 8 pairs with the Ultra3000 2098-DSD-075 (24.7 (35) / 53.0 (75) A rms (0-pk) continuous/peak). Table 3 (p. 10) rates 2198-E2055-ERS at 5.5 kW, so check the motor's continuous and peak current from its nameplate. 2198-E2075-ERS (7.5 kW) has more continuous current (49.0 A rms) but Table 8 lists its peak as 78.0 A rms, below the 91.4 A rms of 2198-E2055-ERS, while Table 3 (p. 10) lists 127.49 A rms; confirm the peak before stepping up. Both need a 170–253 V three-phase supply (2198-RM003B Table 3, p. 10). Confirm the load and the motor/feedback compatibility (motor may need replacing) before ordering. The Ultra5000 runs user programs written in C with the Motion Library (2098-IN001E p. P-3); none of the Kinetix 5100 control modes in 2198-RM003B Table 2 (p. 9) runs user C code, so the motion program must be rewritten, as Kinetix 5100 PR-mode indexing (99 program registers) or as Logix motion in a controller over EtherNet/IP (IO mode). This is not a drop-in replacement. Kinetix 5100 uses EtherNet/IP for control; the guide mentions no DeviceNet port on it (2198-RM003B Table 7, p. 13), so the DeviceNet link must be re-engineered.
