The Rockwell Product Lifecycle Status tool (read 05/11/2026, description "POSITIONING DRIVE, 75A PEAK, ULTRA") shows Discontinued 30/07/2010 with replacement category and catalog number both N/A; no Rockwell migration guide for ULTRA Plus was found. Reading this code as the ULTRA Plus 75 A drive (written 1398-PDM-75 in 1398-2.0 p. 49) is TDL's interpretation of the lifecycle title; the tool does not name the family. See the TDL proposal below. TDL proposal (not a Rockwell statement): migrate to Kinetix 5100, the family Rockwell recommends for Ultra3000 and Kinetix 3. Starting candidate 2198-E2055-ERS (41.3 (58.40) / 91.4 (129.24) A rms (0-pk) continuous/peak, 2198-RM003B Table 8, p. 15). 1398-2.0 gives 35 A / 75 A per phase for the ULTRA Plus 75 A drive, written 1398-PDM-75 in that document (p. 49), without stating rms or 0-pk, so confirm the current basis, the load and the motor/feedback compatibility (motor may need replacing) before ordering; 2198-E2055-ERS needs a 170–253 V three-phase supply (2198-RM003B Table 3, p. 10), and 1398-2.0 p. 49 is ambiguous on the input phase of the 75 A model, so check the existing supply. The ULTRA Plus is an integrated positioner programmed with GML Ultra (1398-2.0 pp. 45, 60); the motion program must be rewritten as Kinetix 5100 PR-mode indexing (99 program registers, 2198-RM003B Table 2, p. 9) or as Logix motion over EtherNet/IP. This is not a drop-in replacement.
