Yakult Vietnam – Ice Bank Monitoring SCADA on FactoryTalk Optix 2026

In 2026 TDL built a monitoring SCADA for the ice bank cooling system at Yakult Vietnam on FactoryTalk Optix. The existing Mitsubishi PLC stays in control; its data reaches the new SCADA through a Modbus RTU to Modbus TCP gateway, and the Optix runtime also serves the screens to web browsers on the plant network. The SCADA server is ready for expansion to other utility systems and for further functions.

Scope of Supply

• Survey and backup: Site survey of the existing ice bank control system and backup of the PLC program before any change.
• Communication: Serial port of the existing PLC connected through a Modbus RTU to Modbus TCP gateway and a Stratix switch to the SCADA workstation.
• SCADA: FactoryTalk Optix application with overview and equipment displays, alarms and log-in with the plant's user accounts.
• Web access: Optix runtime web server, so operators and engineers open the screens from a browser on the plant network.
• Ready for expansion: SCADA server and Optix project set up so that other plant utility systems and further functions can be added in later phases.
• Hand-over: Review with the plant team, operator training and hand-over of documents.
